Junior Chef / Supervisor
16 hours per week - Sunday and one weekday to suit
We are delighted to be recruiting for a Junior Chef who will have responsibility for delivering high quality food and all aspects of kitchen management, as well as supporting our General Manager in the managing of daily activities for both our Soft Play centre and Cafe when you are on site.
Alongside producing delicious food from a set and small specials menu, and normal kitchen responsibilities, you will be also act as Supervisor of the main Soft Play Centre, sometimes taking on the Duty Manager role, ensuring excellent customer service, safety checks, operating sales and bookings systems, opening and/or closing the building and managing a small team of staff.
Your main hours will be on Sunday (where we are looking to develop our food offerings) and one day in the week, and there will be an opportunity to take on extra hours both during the week and at weekends (especially leading up to and through the Christmas holiday).
The successful candidate will obviously have great food preparation and presentation skills, and all the relevant catering knowledge, you will need to have an outgoing and friendly personality, which is customer focused and be able to communicate to all visitors with a view to making their experience with us fun and memorable.
A flexible working attitude, good organisation skills and motivation to keep a clean, tidy, well presented and hygienic centre is paramount, whilst thinking about customer welfare at all times. You should be able to work effectively alone or as part of a team. Catering experience essential and cash handling experience and up to date First Aid certification highly desirable.
